Greetings NACE Members and Friends!
Monthly meetings offer an opportunity to market yourself to a receptive audience and to make the most of your time, site or talk with one new member per meeting! Each meeting is a new chance to build a bridge with a fellow colleague, a planner that may send business your way or just a new friend. It takes some time to be successful but you will be amazed at the relationship you make and the business you receive by reaching out and introducing yourself to someone new!

Our Recent meeting
"Sustainability: The State Of The Movement"
Our March meeting was held at The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in beautiful Balboa Park. Cocktail hour started upstairs with a live saxophone player which set the mood. Dinner was provided by Continental Catering and from what I hear the bread pots were a big hit. The speaker captivated the audience with his presentation on sustainability. He talked about locally grown/fed foods and the progress of non-chain, sustainable restaurants.

Hello to all fellow NACE Members,
Again it is my pleasure to be you new Vice President of the San Diego Chapter. You will see more of me each month at our meetings, and I hope bring some great energy to the club. PLEASE if you have any ideas, changes or thoughts for our meetings, or chapter … I ask you to feel free to call or email me at any time… I am your representative!!!
I need to say a big Thank You to all of our vendors that participated and donated this past month at our meeting at The Rueben H. Fleet Science Center. In no particular order, we had Platinum Party Rentals ( All of our linens, chairs, tables, dishes ..etc), Joes on the Nose ( iced teas and coffees), Gabriel Hernandez ( photography), Sweet Cheeks ( desserts), Stone Brewing ( beer!!), Becks Entertainment ( DJ dinner), and Music As You Like It, ( saxophone player ), and Nancy Stevens Weddings ( flowers).
Again …remember these are our partners in business ..and with their support our meetings are such a success.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Get Involved
A big thank you to everyone that helped out in our annual community service project at the San Diego Food Bank. We joined with San Diego Association of Bridal Consultants and their Community Service Chair, Geneene Thornton, (www.celebrationssd.com ) to sort and pack food to be distributed to thousands of families in need in San Diego. DJ Bob Brichmann (www.artistic-productions.com ) rocked out the evening by providing upbeat tunes to make the work go faster.
For our next community service project, we will be helping out Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center (www.olivewoodgardens.org ). On their site of many acres, they provide hands on gardening knowledge teaching students and families how to grow and cook nutritious food. They have many celebrity chefs donate their time to instruct the cooking classes and they are planning to build a new kitchen on the site.
They are in need of kitchen supplies and we would like to help them out. So here is a list of items for you to choose from to bring to our May meeting: measuring cups and spoons, mason jars and jars for canning and making preserves, good knives for chopping herbs and vegetables, spatulas and spoons, kitchen towels and timers, and storage containers for home-dried herbs and spices. Pitchers for water to replace soda, beautiful bowls for cut fruit and vegetables for snack-time, cutting boards, graters, or whatever you can think of to help out. Thanks so much. Remember this is for the May meeting, not the April meeting.
